The first groups of volunteers to join to connect the paths of Kynouria with the Menalon Trail, were formed…

A planned meeting on the opening of the existing Kynouria paths and their maintenance, as well as the routes that will start from our villages, to meet the certified path of Menalon Trail, took place yesterday in the Astros Foundation Hall,https://menalontrail.eu/el/ in Arcadia.

This event was edited by Menalon Social Enterprise, with Mr. Ioannis Lagos as a speakerand with the valuablehelp og Mrs. Foteini Daliani , architect – mechanic and member of the Global Panarcadian Association.

The people who were there were the chairman of Astros region, Mr. B. Dikaios, the chairmans of of Korakovounio and of Sitaina and the one of the South Kynouria.

Present and the representatives of many clubs in the region, such as the presidents and members of the Board of Directors of the tourist lodgings, the associations of Agianni, Sitena, Verbena and others, as well as representatives from the SAO Tripolis & Speleologists from Korakovouni, Mr. Ilias Kavylis and many walkers.

Speakers such us, the chairman of the Touristic sector of the Chamber of Arcadia were there, Mr. Sambrakos and Mr. Giannis Tsiaousis, chairman of of the Club «Friends of Traditional Architecture – Anthi tis Petras» & Didactor of the Health School of the University of Crete.

Mr. Lagos, read a short notice of Mr. Evi Tatouli, who could not be present on that day for personal reasons and as mentioned» the first meeting for the certification of the trails of Parnon was done on 11/8/2017 in Agios Petros of Kynouria with her own will and initiative»

Mr. Lagos continued with a step by step analysis of the next moves should be done in order to reach our goal and the needed sponshorships…

Mr. Lagos said that in order to achieve the goal, volunteers need … and where there are not enough people to work, paid for with some wages, in co-operation with a Commonwealth of Independent States. who will be responsible for managing this project …

He then said that the entire cost of logistics was taken over by the Region of Peloponnese after a meeting with Regional Commissioner Petros Tatoulis and the decision was made to support this effort …

The first volunteer work groups per region were set up initially to mark the paths with ribbons, then the GPS will record the kilometer distance and then mark them.

The logo decided to be the eight star of Tsakonia,which is found in many stone-built houses in the area…

The aim of yesterday’s meeting was to provide targeted information to the clubs and institutions involved in the project, with the ultimate goal of tourists from all over the world and the economic development of the region.
